Explorer
I've always loved explorers - people who sought the boundaries of what was known. I can't imagine what it must have been like to see the West Indies for the first time or the coast of Alaska. Vitus Bering, Ponce De Leon, Sir Walter Raleigh are some of my favorites. For some, it's about what is known and comfortable. I like the opposite. I like to stretch myself and try new things. I'm most comfortable when I'm in a new situation. I've had my struggles and scrapes, like the time I got lost hiking in McKinley. But the view I stumbled onto was amazing. I find that there are boundaries in all of life that need exploring - food, music, movies. I find there are frontiers to go beyond all the time. That's what I value most - the new, the exciting, and the uncomfortable. It's not about loud, scary, and weird, it's about the novel, the fresh, and the wonderful. The explorers knew that and look at where we are today.
