Community Café

Connecting Through ART

Open to veterans, service members, and their families

Community Café is a monthly series that brings our veteran, military, and music community together! An open mic-night, jam session, or welcoming place to share any of the ways you like to be creative, Community Café events are hosted by local veterans and musicians who will encourage you to connect, have fun, and share your art! All genres and skill levels are welcome. Share a song, a poem, a dance, or a piece of visual art you’ve created. Playing a song? Bring your own instrument or use one of ours! We’ll have a variety of percussion instruments on hand.

Light refreshments provided. Community Café events are alcohol-free.

Community Cafés are informal events, and you are welcome to stay for as little or as long as you please. Let us know you’re coming! If you’d like to receive reminders or borrow an instrument, RSVP in the “Let us know you’re coming” tab below.

Testimonials

  • Danielle Kalseth

The community cafes give our veteran and military population the opportunity to connect through the arts. It doesn’t matter your background or experience with music, art, drama, poetry, or dance we meet to share with each other and create a community for expression. It’s within these creative connections that we can bring light and joy into our lives.

We believe that the Community Cafe Series will have a profound impact on the lives of many veterans, offering them a sense of belonging and an outlet for creative expression.

I’m on the mic just to help other veterans find their courage and believe in themselves enough to get on the stage and share. Some of the talent that shows up here, some of the trauma that is worked through, some of the stories we tell… it’s worth it.
