Diyet & The Love Soldiers
North Indigenous Folk

Diyet lives with feet planted in two worlds: one day she’s fishing for dinner on the ice, the next she’s singing on an international stage. Born in a tent, the songwriter was raised on the ancestral lands of the Kluane First Nation people in Canada. She has created a musical presence that is as diverse as her Southern Tutchone, Tlingit, Japanese and Scottish heritage.
After years creating music in Vancouver, she made the unlikely move back to her village of 90 people without even a pub to play in. What followed was international collaborations, extensive touring, and three acclaimed albums. Singing in both English and Southern Tutchone (her native language), Diyet & The Love Soldiers is alternative country, folk, and traditional with “vulnerable, true to life songs” (Vancouver Sun) rooted in Diyet’s Indigenous worldview.
Backed by The Love Soldiers (her husband/collaborator Robert van Lieshout and Juno-Award-winning Bob Hamilton), this trio’s enticing sound will instantly pull you in.
