Alphonso Horne & the Gotham Kings take on The Ugly Sweater Holiday Show for the second time, ringing in the yule Alaska-style with local guest artists in this twist on the traditional holiday concert. A refreshing tonic to the hectic season, it’s one part variety show, one part holiday homage, one part freewheeling spectacle.  

Like your favorite holiday sweater, this night promises to be one-of-a-kind, full of unique melodies woven with quirky threads and plenty of cheer. Think jazzy takes on holiday classics and hidden gem jams, tied together by our wonderful host and a taste of the best musicians Anchorage has to offer.

Juilliard Graduate and Multi-GRAMMY Award nominee Alphonso Horne is described by New York Times as a “devastating trumpeter” that thrills audiences with his soulful sound and dramatic sensibility. Alphonso has collaborated with artists from all genres and disciplines including Wynton Marsalis, Patti Labelle and Rihanna. Alphonso was also featured in the Louis Armstrong musical on Broadway, “A Wonderful World”.

Alphonso can also be seen on CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and in the Hollywood Jazz Film, “BOLDEN”.
