Community Workshop With The Second City

Anchorage Concert Association is excited to present a special, limited-capacity improv workshop led by actors from The Second City, the world-renowned institution that has shaped generations of iconic comedians and performers.

This 2-hour workshop, held at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, is open to adult comedians, actors, creatives, and anyone looking for a fun, playful way to try something new. Drawing on The Second City’s groundbreaking approach to improvisation and sketch comedy, participants will explore the fundamentals of collaboration, storytelling, and comedic discovery through games and exercises in a relaxed, supportive environment.

No pressure, no expectations, just curiosity and a willingness to play. Expect laughs, connection, and a Saturday morning well spent.

Cost – $10

Two Levels Available

Participants will register for one of two class levels:

  • Improv 101 – Beginning
    Ideal for first-timers or those with little to no improv experience. Learn core improv principles, foundational games, and the basics of “yes, and.”
  • Improv – Intermediate / Advanced
    Designed for participants with prior improv, theater, or performance experience who want to build on existing skills, explore more complex scene work, and deepen their practice.

Space is limited for each level. Advance registration is required!
