The 2026/2027 Season
Anchorage Concert Association is pleased to announce the first nine mainstage shows in its lineup for the 2026/2027 season at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. All 21 shows have been announced and Subscriptions will be on sale May 12 for current subscribers and May 19 at noon for the public.
Jake Shimabukuro – October 3, 2026

Hailed as the “Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele,” this world-renowned virtuoso has redefined what the instrument can do, blending jazz, rock, classical, blues, and traditional Hawaiian music into something entirely his own. With dazzling speed, precision, and heart, Jake Shimabukuro transforms the ukulele into a full orchestra by strumming, tapping, and bending the strings in ways that feel almost impossible.
Chris Funk – October 16 & 17, 2026

His parents wanted him to be a musician. He wanted to be a magician. So Chris Funk became both. The breakout star of America’s Got Talent and Penn & Teller: Fool Us brings his genre-defying show Redefining Wonder to the stage—blending live music, illusion, and interactive video into a spectacle that has audiences leaning forward and scratching their heads.
Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road – October 24, 2026

At just 22, North Carolina’s Liam Purcell has emerged as one of the most exciting voices in bluegrass, blending Appalachian roots with a forward-looking approach to songwriting and performance. Raised less than a mile from legendary guitarist Doc Watson, Purcell was immersed in old-time and bluegrass traditions from an early age, shaping a sound grounded in storytelling and musical craft.
Bandits on the Run – October 30, 2026

Bandits on the Run is a Brooklyn-based trio known for turning unexpected moments into music, blending indie folk, pop, and Americana into a sound that is as playful as it is tightly crafted. With three lead singers swapping vocals and instruments, the group creates a dynamic, ever-shifting performance built on harmony, rhythm, and a sense of theatrical surprise.
Vitamin String Quartet – November 13, 2026

With billions of streams and a global following, VSQ has built a reputation for bridging musical worlds, blending the precision of classical performance with the energy and emotion of contemporary pop. Their music has been featured in hit series like Bridgerton, Westworld, and Modern Family, introducing their sound to audiences around the world.
The Nutcracker with Eugene Ballet – November 27-29, 2026

Experience the MAGIC at this beloved holiday classic! For 36 years, The Nutcracker has become an Anchorage tradition that reminds us to dream bigger, leap higher, and experience the wonder of being a kid again. The elegant Eugene Ballet and young Alaska dancers coordinated by Alaska Dance Theatre return to the Atwood Concert Hall accompanied by live music from Anchorage Symphony Orchestra
The Ugly Sweater Holiday Show feat. Alphonso Horne & The Gotham Kings – Dec. 4 & 5, 2026

Alphonso Horne & the Gotham Kings take on The Ugly Sweater Holiday Show for the second time, ringing in the yule Alaska-style with local guest artists in this twist on the traditional holiday concert. A refreshing tonic to the hectic season, it’s one part variety show, one part holiday homage, one part freewheeling spectacle. Think jazzy takes on holiday classics and hidden gem jams, tied together by our wonderful host and a taste of the best musicians Anchorage has to offer.
Celtic Woman – December 11-12, 2026

Celebrate the holiday season with the celestial voices of Grammy-nominated multi-platinum Irish singing sensation Celtic Woman. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear Celtic Woman’s angelic harmonies with the thrilling live sound of a full symphony orchestra in an intimate concert setting. The show features the all-female ensemble’s favorite Yuletide songs: O Holy Night, Little Drummer Boy, Carol of the Bells & more, along with Celtic Woman classics and some Irish tunes with a Christmas twist.
International Guitar Night XXVII – January 22 & 23, 2027

North America’s longest-running guitar show, is celebrating its 27th Anniversary with the debut of ROXANE ELFASCI, the award-winning classical virtuoso from France, and three all-time IGN favorites— Acoustic Rock dynamo LUCA STRICAGNOLI from Italy, mellow Slack Key master JIM KIMO WEST from Hawaii, and the irrepressible blues slide guitar powerhouse MINNIE MARKS from Australia.

Twenty years on from winning the Danny Kyle Open Stage Award at Celtic Connections, Breabach remain securely ranked amongst Scotland’s most skilled & imaginative contemporary-folk acts. The band unites deep roots in Highland and Island Gaelic tradition alongside progressive musical influences and have cultivated a unique sound, anchoring double bagpipes, fiddle, whistle, step-dance and song with energetic double bass and guitar accompaniment.
Treasure Island Reimagined – February 5 & 6, 2027

Treasure Island Reimagined: Jane Hawkins and the Pirate’s Gold is the newest show from Jason Neulander, the mind behind the smash hit The Intergalactic Nemesis. In this adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic, three performers provide all the character voices and sound effects – live and in front of your eyes – as more than 1,200 hand-drawn comic book panels blast one by one on a huge screen to tell an on-the-edge-of-your-seat tale of danger and adventure for the kid in everyone.
The Moth Mainstage – February 11, 2027

When The Moth migrates to Anchorage each year, we laugh, cry, bond with a theatre full of strangers, and leave inspired to share the personal, powerful stories in each and every one of us. Honest, funny, and poignant, The Moth celebrates the raconteur who breathes fire into true tales of ordinary life, and the novice who’s lived through something extraordinary and yearns to share it.
Broadway’s Next – February 19, 2027

Whose Line Is It Anyway? meets the Tony Awards—with you in the writer’s room.
In Broadway’s Next, audience suggestions take center stage as a cast of quick-witted improvisers turns your made-up song titles into full-blown musical numbers. No script, No sheet music, No problem! Every song is fresh. Every scene is new. Every night is different. It’s all improvised and it’s all hysterical!
Jesús Muñoz Flamenco – February 26, 2027

Jesús Muñoz Flamenco presents powerful, emotionally driven performances that honor the roots of flamenco while expanding its possibilities as a contemporary art form. Led by artistic director Jesús Muñoz, this internationally recognized company brings together movement, music, and storytelling in a dynamic and deeply expressive performance.

From the streets to the world stage—and back again. For over a decade, Tuba Skinny has built a devoted following through the strength of their musicianship and a deep, expansive catalog of jazz and American roots music. Known for their rich interpretations of traditional jazz, the band brings together cornet, trombone, tuba, clarinet, guitar, banjo, washboard, and vocals in a sound that feels both timeless and alive.
Masters of Hawaiian Music – March 12, 2027

Featuring three celebrated masters, George Kahumoku Jr., Sonny Lim, and Herb Ohta Jr., this performance brings together the rich, distinctive sounds of slack key guitar, ʻukulele, and lap steel guitar. Each artist is an award-winning musician, carrying forward generations of Hawaiian musical tradition while sharing their artistry as performers, storytellers, and composers.
Portland Cello Project: Tribute to Stevie Wonder – March 20, 2027

Portland Cello Project returns with a fresh take on one of music’s most beloved catalogs, transforming Stevie Wonder’s iconic songs through bold, cello-driven arrangements. Known for reimagining everything from Bach to Beyoncé, this genre-defying ensemble blends classical technique with a spirit of experimentation that keeps their performances vibrant and unexpected.
The Peking Acrobats – April 9 & 10, 2027

Defying gravity and redefining possibility. For more than three decades, The Peking Acrobats have amazed audiences with daring feats of strength, balance, and precision rooted in centuries of Chinese tradition. From towering chair stacks and trick cycling to tumbling, contortion, and juggling, these performers push the limits of the human body with breathtaking control and discipline.
The Jenner Fox Band – April 17, 2027

Some songs stay with you long after the last note fades. That kind of lasting connection sits at the heart of Jenner Fox’s songwriting. Leading a deeply collaborative band, he brings together storytelling and a sound shaped by years of friendship. With a voice that carries both vulnerability and conviction, Fox writes songs that find meaning in everyday moments, often with a quiet sense of humor.
The evening is split between original music and a dedicated set of songs by Paul Simon, offering a clear throughline between Fox’s songwriting and one of his most influential inspirations.
Tig Notaro: Out of Nowhere Tour – April 24, 2027

Tig Notaro is an Emmy and Grammy nominated stand-up comedian, actor, writer, podcaster, and radio contributor, as well as a favorite on numerous talk shows, including THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT and THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JIMMY FALLON. Rolling Stone named her one of the “50 best stand-up comics of all time.” Her special, TIG NOTARO: HELLO AGAIN, premiered in March of 2024 on Amazon, garnering multiple Emmy nominations.
Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy – May 14, 2027

When two of Celtic music’s most celebrated performers share the stage, something electric happens.
Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy return to touring together with an electrifying performance rooted in tradition and shaped by a lifetime of music. Both internationally acclaimed, they bring together virtuosic fiddle playing, deep musical heritage, and a connection that comes from years of performing side by side.
