“My hope is that the next generation of dancers can start where I’ve arrived: knowing that our art form gives us the tools we need to acknowledge we are important and we belong,” emphasizes EMERGE125 Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher. Grounded in the vibrant artistic culture of Harlem, the Black female-led dance hub has risen above NYC to inspire audiences around the world.
Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher has curated a mixed program of choreographic works for the Alaska Tour, each showcasing the athleticism, empathy, and joy that defines her signature movement style. From the frenetic energy of Poly String Theory to the infectious rhythms of Memphis Hesitation, each piece invites the audience to immerse themselves in a realm of movement and connection. Spirit Celestial embodies the innovative essence of E125, while Tilted Arc challenges perceptions and expands boundaries.
Inspired by everything from visual art to the neuroscience of synchronized heartbeats, EMERGE125 proves that modern dance can be accessible and relatable to people of all ages and backgrounds.

In The Community
In addition to public performance, EMERGE125 artists will be in town to connect to dancers and community members with two different workshops as well as a community conversation with Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher at UAA.
A conversation with Tiffany Rae-Fisher discussing how dance intersect with social justice and community, the experience of being a leader and creative in the field right now and what that means for dancers coming into this profession. Moderated by UAA Dance Faculty Katie O'Loughlin.
Tiffany Rea-Fisher is the Artistic Director of EMERGE125, a Mellon Foundation-funded dance company based in Harlem and the Adirondacks, and the Executive Director of the Adirondack Diversity Initiative. She is also the dance curator for Bryant Park Picnic Performances and co-founder of Inception to Exhibition, a nonprofit supporting affordable space for artists. Rea-Fisher’s choreography has been commissioned by leading institutions like the Dallas Black Dance Theatre and The National Gallery of Art, with performances at venues such as The Joyce and The Public Theater. A prominent speaker and advocate, she focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts, using "disruption through inclusion" as a guiding principle.
