Jake Shimabukuro Performing Bohemian Rhapsody on HiSessions

Finding our beautiful purpose

Jake Shimabukuro is a very special performer, indeed. The first time he came to Anchorage, he was to play the 2000-seat Atwood Concert Hall. How was a solo show with a ukulele going to hold the crowd? It defied any notions of concerts I'd ever had. But then Jake took the stage and I got it. Just Jake and his uke moved me in a way few performers ever had. He demonstrated such a commitment to an instrument and a pursuit of such excellence, I left that show trying to find my purpose in life -- my life's ukulele. Jake has since been back to Anchorage twice playing to sold out shows. Watching Jake reminds me that life has beautiful, simple purpose.
