New ‘Beauty and the Beast’ show added to Anchorage lineup


Anchorage Concert Association adds 10 a.m. Saturday performance due to popular demand

Anchorage, AK – Tickets to the matinee performances of the Broadway sensation “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” in Anchorage are selling fast. Anchorage Concert Association has now added a 10 a.m. Saturday performance, giving families and Belle-ievers of all ages an extra chance to experience the classic story of Belle, a beautiful young woman in a provincial town, and her unlikely encounter with the Beast, who is in reality a young prince trapped in a spell.

Tickets for the added performance will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 17, at the CenterTix box office for the April 29 show. Friday is also the opening day for the live-action film starring Emma Watson.

With songs by legendary composer Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas”) “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” stage version is an international phenomenon that has played to more than 35 million people worldwide. As their story unfolds, we’re introduced to an unforgettable cast of characters, including Lumière, Mrs. Potts, Cogsworth, and other familiar favorites.
