Saturday show still on and aims bring art, joy and community together during this disaster

ANCHORAGE, AK – Because of the massive earthquake Friday morning in Anchorage, Anchorage Concert Association must cancel tonight’s performance of The New Standards Holiday Show in the Discovery Theatre. Saturday night’s performance is still scheduled to happen.

“This concert brings together so many artists from Alaska and Outside for a fun-filled evening. I want to offer that joy to our community right now. We’re doing what we can to make that happen for Saturday,” said Jason Hodges, executive director of Anchorage Concert Association.

One part variety show, one part homage to the season, one part irreverent, freewheeling spectacle, The New Standards Holiday Show features special guests from Alaska, including Pamyua and Super Saturated Sugar Strings.

People who purchased tickets to Friday night’s performance of The New Standards Holiday Show can switch to Saturday night. Call the CenterTix box office at 907-263-2787 to move to Saturday’s performance. People who purchased tickets to either performance and are unable to make it due to the earthquake can get refunds next week. Anchorage Concert Association subscribers can switch tickets to another upcoming performance in the season.

Tickets to Saturday’s performance are available at CenterTix box office (263-ARTS) and anchorageconcerts.org.
